Shutter Ma #2 – Flowers and heavenly bodies

Back to shutter ma.  I don’t think that there is any need to review the story of shutter ma.  This was Cathy’s idea, one of the earliest common ancestors of the Quirky Berkeley Project.  Rick doesn’t think that I am using the word “ma” correctly.  Blah, blah blah.

Shutter ma is an industry – lots of ideas and patterns are out there.  And found in Berkeley.   Come to my window – and let’s start with flowers.  I was going to link to the Daisy Girl television ad from the 1964 election right there on the mention of flowers, but I watched it.  Too grim.  Flower Shutter Ma:

And flowers in full color – an unusual shutter ma feature:

And now the moon, with what I consider to be the no-brainer song to accompany:

And with the flowers and moon: stars.  It occurs to me that what I consider obvious song choices or film-clip choices are based on a set of subjective assumptions, largely driven by my generation.  I consider this to be the obvious star song choice to accompany these lovely shutter-ma stars:

After looking at this album my friend disappeared for a few hours.  He came back and told me that he had “grokked ma” (his words).  He was looking at chairs and seeing the negative space.  You know what he said, right?
