Gabby sent my friend his collection of 1964 Worlds Fair postcards. By Gabby standards, it was a small collection.
I took the postcards with me recently to Dayton, Ohio, to show my friend Criswell. He remembered our trip to New York in 1965 very well. He carried his extra cash in his shoe. I carried mine in a money belt under my shirt. We wore coats and ties. We loved the fresh pineapple from Hawaii. The pineapple wasn’t anything like what we knew from cans. Criswell still had the map from our visit to the Worlds Fair.
I remember happy times with the map in the weeks before we went, planning what we would see.
As for my friend, well, you probably can guess what he said about Gabby’s postcard collection.
